Hear James Sing Steal Away
James Brown is a "Natural Storyteller" he captivates the audience with his stories and
his smooth tenor voice. As Brother Ely, the Care Taker, he asks to "borrow the minds" of the
audiences, young and old to take them on a vicarious journey to travel back in time to
1912, to visit with Harriet Tubman.
Throughout the storytelling, James brings the sounds of the Negro Spirituals into
the room and the audience experiences musical enchanting moments.
School children listen carefully and breakout into applause after each song.
